A Disapponting Eight

Well, it looks like I was right to be concerned about this cycle. Our last three cycles have yielded 11, 12, and 13 eggs. This cycle we came out with 8. Not the end of the world, but certainly not the blockbuster performance I was hoping for. I know, I know, it only takes one. But consider this--even with 13 eggs I still don't see a baby sleeping in my nursery. So 8 just reduces the odds of a great outcome.

Anyway, I'm disappointed. Not frantic or suicidal or anything. Just tired and let down.

Shit, speaking of tired, I just realized that the one thing that was different this cycle was arguably just that: exhaustion. So maybe my work-crazed July had something to do with my wacky response.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted as the fert. reports come in. Thanks for all the love and support, sweeties.

Eight is still great - I'm hoping for good things from this cycle. Don't give up yet!

I know you're disappointed, but eight is a nice number. Hope one of those little buggers is the golden egg.

Sorry for the disappointing count. It;s all about quality. These may be better quality.

I understand your disappointment - but like the previous poster said, it's about quality, not quantity. There is still an excellent chance that this will turn out well. :)

The elite eight will be in my thoughts. Good luck babe.

Hoping there's an Olympian among the lucky 8, but I'm sorry you're disappointed, sweetie. I understand - I compare, too. Keeping everything crossed that it's totally irrelevant and you get as many babies as you want our of those 8 eggs!

Based on my own past performance, I have to say that eight sounds pretty impressive to me!

As others have already said, it's quantity over quality. I know it's an age old cliche, but all it really takes is one.

But I'm sorry that you're feeling so tired and let down. Am still holding out hope for you.

Every cycle is so different, and I'm hoping that one or two of these guys are the ones.

I also hope you get some rest and time to relax a bit.

Hang in there, lady! This whole thing is such an incredible crapshoot.

My last cycle, I was up to my ears in eggs — but again, no baby so far. This time around my RE is aiming for way fewer eggs, but better quality. I totally don't understand it all.

Thinking positive, fertilizing thoughts for you :)
